SHOP REOPENING MONDAY 29th JUNE

Well, it has been a while, we very much look forward to welcoming you back to the shop. We are open again but of course with the new measures in place to help prevent the spread of Coronavirus. We look forward to welcoming you back to the shop and hope that you have a nice relaxed shopping experience, we will try and make things as normal as we possibly can under the circumstances. When you come into the shop now, you will notice we have markers on the floor to help keep in mind the 2m distance rule. As you enter the shop you will find the hand wash station directly in front of you, we kindly ask that you use the hand sanitizer on entering and leaving the shop. We also have in place a clear polycarbonate screen at the till area, just the usual preventative measures that you will have already experienced in the supermarkets etc. At the moment, we think it will be best if we allow 6 persons maximum in the shop at one time.

As we said above, it has been a while and we look forward to seeing you all again soon and we will do our very best to try and make sure you have a nice shopping experience with us

Thanks
Jason & Annie

Plastic Pollution

By Annie Cruickshank
on February 20, 2020

As you all know, plastic pollution is a serious problem. People are becoming more aware of this now and it is nice to see folks out clearing litter from the beach, streets and parks etc whilst walking their dogs. We have noticed a lot more organised beach cleans lately, hats off to the organisers and participants at these events. We have decided, in the very near future, to make the switch over to using 100% recyclable and bio-degradable paper bags at the shop. We are also looking at ways to help with our online sales packaging. It is a small step to make, but a big thing for a small independent trader such as ourselves, hopefully it helps a little towards a plastic pollution free planet.

Shuggie the Haggis Hunter & Jock the Rebellious Haggis

By Annie Cruickshank
on January 15, 2020

What an eventful Burns night we had last year!😂 We had to take in Jock the Rebellious Haggis who was being hunted by Shuggie The Haggis Hunter. The poor beastie was in an awfy battle but made it to survive another year. Jock was enjoying a few whiskys with some pals out in Tarland last year, a rare time he had, but on his way home he was ambushed by Shuggie, a notorious Haggis Hunter here in the north east of Scotland. Well, michty, Jock escaped on that occasion and lives to tell the tale. He  headed for his hideyoot here at Scotland's Bothy for a wee rest before he headed off on his travels again. We have no idea where he is now, but one thing is for sure, he will be on his guard as he knows Shuggie The Haggis Hunter will be on his tail looking for his Haggis for his Burns Super this year on Satuday 25th January. Keep an eye out on our facebook page, no doubt Jock will appear over the Burns Night Celebration period, he always finds a great party on Burns Night, it's a dangerous time of the year for him but he jist cannae resist the lure of the single malt whisky this time of year! Here you can see a photo of Jock having a rest after his epic battle last year, what a time he had. To mark the occasion of his adventure, we released the "Shuggie The Haggis Hunter" tea towel which is available online now.

This was a personalised slate plaque we made for Alison Main, a Christmas present for her husband. We can engrave your photos onto slate also, they have many uses, this particular one was for their wee shed/pub
